Roleplaying Rules for the site
Note: These rules are for the actually posting/roleplaying on the site. For rules regarding characters, see the Character Rules thread.
- Whilst there is no set post limit on this site, roleplayers are expected to be as literate as possible. We appreciate that it is not always possible to write an essay and it is unrealistic to expect everyone to be as literate as a novelist, but we do expect a degree of literacy. There should be no text speak, including substituting numbers for letters. Writing should be formed properly, with capital and small letters used appropriately. Spelling should be as clear as possible- if you are unsure how to spell a word, use google!
- Post templates ARE allowed, on the condition that they do not stretch the site. Keep images to 400 and under where possible. If you are in doubt, try it using the PREVIEW feature and see what it looks like.
- Text should not be all coloured, unless you are using colour for speech.
For example: James was having a good time sitting outside. He wanted to play a prank on Severus. "Hey, Sirius, up for a prank today?" he asked. The above is not acceptable. James was having a good time sitting outside. He wanted to play a prank on Severus. "Hey Sirius, up for a prank today?" he asked. The above is acceptable.
- Under no circumstances are you allowed to godmod. This means saying what someone else is doing in your post. Keep it to what YOUR character is doing, thinking and saying. If you would like to discuss potential for a thread, contact the other person. You should also contact them to check if you do wish to mention something minor. You are not allowed to seriously injure another character or kill them without their players' prior permission.
- Please keep any formatting to a simple style if you are unsure how to format. If you are skilled at formatting on proboards and wish to spruce up your posts, go ahead, as long as there is no code on display. Always check using the PREVIEW button before posting something coded to check that it will work.
